What are the strongest magnets in the world? They are  N55 Neodymium Magnets.It is well known that the Neodymium magnet is the magnet's king in the world now. But there are many different grade neodymium magnets based on different ingredients for different applications. Which grade of neodymium magnet is the strongest magnets? In the Room temperature environment, N55 magnets , N54 magnets  and N52 magnets  represent the first, second and third strongest magnets in the world that can be industrially produced. Therefore, these magnets are used in specific applications requiring maximum magnetic strength in a small space. The strongest magnets feature:

N55 Neodymium Magnets  is the most powerful neodymium magnet grade available currently for commercial use in the world. In theory, this neodymium magnet N55 is about 5-6% stronger in compare with the common magnet N52 grade and about 1.5-2.0% stronger than magnets N54.

The magnet performance is limited subject to the actual production conditions and current situation. Some responsible NdFeB manufacturers always indicate the confirmed minimum magnetic properties value (see Table 1) in order to avoid any disputes.

The magnets are qualified as long as their actual performance is not less than the minimum value. Therefore, it is possible that you can stronger magnets that meet the performance requirements of N54 magnets  or even N55 magnet if you make an order of N52 magnet.

Strong points of N55 neodymium magnets:

  • Compare to the magnets that have the same shape and weight, n55 magnet has the most powerful magnetic strength;
  •  Various shapes and dimensions are available through the different processing technology like cutting and grinding;
  •  Super-strong adhesive force, suitable for small spaces (miniaturization)
  • Even the smallest n55 neodymium magnets  are just as strong as larger common ceramic magnets or alnico magnets.

Weak points of N55 Neodymium Magnts:

  • N55 Magnets are high-cost, 30% higher than magnets N35;
  • N55 Magnets  are more brittle and not resistant to corrosion, an electroplating treatment is necessary;
  • N55 Magnets  are not resistant to high temperatures (See Pic 1).

The ingredients of these strongest magnets – N55 Magnets:

These strongest magnets – Neodymium permanent magnet N55 are based on the maximum percent of the intermetallic compound Nd2Fe14B and a small percent of other compounds, such Rich Nd compound.   The magnetic power or magnetic energy has come from the Nd2Fe14B compound, other compounds support magnets informing during sintering and also increase the coercive force of finished magnets.  The detailed ingredients are rare earth elements neodymium (Nd), praseodymium (Pr), dysprosium (Dy), iron (Fe), and boron (B). Among them, the rare earth element is mainly neodymium (Nd). In order to obtain the highest grade N55 magnets , the neodymium magnets manufacturer uses some other rare earth metals such as dysprosium (Dy) and praseodymium (Pr) to replace neodymium (Nd). Iron can also be partially replaced by other metals such as aluminum (Al). The boron content is small, but it plays an important role in the formation of tetragonal crystal structure intermetallic compounds, making the compound have high saturation magnetization, high uniaxial anisotropy, and high Curie temperature.
